Trauma
Trauma is usually both physical and non-physical (emotional and mental). Pain and dysfunction often have origins that are not limited to mechanical causes. Primitive emotions like fear, anxiety, and anger that are present during the initial phases of trauma may prevent your body's ability to progress through normal healing to a more normal state years after trauma's origin.
How Would You Know If This Is Relevant To You?
You may be getting great mechanical treatments from massage, physical therapy, occupational therapy, etc., but those treatments just don't last.
Do you ever get the sense that there is something emotional hidden below the surface that is related to your pain or dysfunction?
These two things are highly indicative of there being a traumatic barrier that is obstructing your body's ability to progress to the next level of healing. I have a lot of experience helping people get through that barrier so that they can move forward instead of being stuck. For most people, I can get into that barrier within 2 or 3 sessions.
